What a GREAT guy!!! Kirby overcame the odds to become a star coming out of the Robert Taylor Homes in Chicago, only to lose his eyesight, and his life WAY before his time. Puckett played on Triton’s JC team in the Chicago area. Triton also featured another future big league centerfielder Lance Johnson. Ironically neither Puckett nor Johnson played CF on that Triton ballclub.
