9th Inning, Cleveland Indians
8 for 12, 11 runs, 1 homer, 3 doubles, 2 walks
Cleveland trailed the Royals 7-2 in the 9th inning in Kansas City. Mike MacDougal was brought on to close out the game. But then the Tribe woke up scoring 11 runs for a 13-7 win. Casey Blake and Grady Sizemore opened the frame with back to back doubles. Coco Crisp singled. Jhonny Peralta struck out before a double by Travis Hafner and a single by Victor Martinez. Ronnie Belliard grounded into a FC for the 2nd out. Jeff Liefer got on base on an error. Aaron Boone doubled. Jimmy Gobble was brought on to intentionally walk Casey Blake, Grady Sizemore singled, Coco Crisp walked, Jhonny Peralta homered, and mercifully Travis Hafner struck out to put an end to the carnage. Now the Royals know what Custer must’ve felt like.
