Any fan attending this game most certainly got their money’s worth. Except those who left early because they thought the Rangers had a sure win with a 10-3 lead in the 6th inning.
But as they say, anything can happen in baseball and in this case, something certainly did. The Yankees 9 run comeback was the largest lead given up in Ranger history.
Everyone got in on the action. Every starter on both teams, save one, got at least one hit. The only one who didn’t, Robinson Cano, drove in a run on a ground out.
Posada was the big hero of the game. Probably still feeling the effects of a major collision at the plate with Mark Teixeira earlier in the game, he hit a game winning two-run homer off Akinori Otsuka. It was Otsuka’s first homer given up since May of last year.
What a game! Go Yanks!!!
yeah, i thought about you when I saw the finale of this game. Heard Brandon Rosage say on his show that of all teams, NYY would be one team that could pull it off.
And actually they have. Twice before IIRC.
