At first glance, Scotty Po didn’t look too special in the box score.  But he’s a leadoff hitter.  And for a leadoff man, he fulfilled his duties.  He got on four out of four times. He stole a couple bases.  And most importantly, he scored twice.  And that’s the name of the game.

Just noticed, he also got picked off.

Miguel Cabrera, Florida Marlins 4 for 6, 2 HR, 3 runs, 6 rbis Florida defeated Atlanta 8-0 and Cabrera was responsible for 7 of those runs.  Special mention goes to the D-train who pitched a shutout for his 12th win of the year.

Lee’s performance was responsible for the Cubs’ demise on Wednesday. 

Lee is someone to watch.  In his six years in the majors, his season homerun totals have never gone down (16, 24,24,26,31,31) and you can almost say the same about his slugging percentage (.463, .484, .468, .484, .499, .525).

Bernie Williams (5 rbis) and Derek Jeter (5 for 6, 5 runs) came close but Sheff wins it today.  Give him lots of credit for the Yanks’ incredible comeback against the Rays.

The top 7 hitters in the Yankees lineup had only 3 LOB in the game.  Sometimes a low LOB total is a reflection of not getting runners on base.  Obviously, that was not the case in this game.
