August 27, 2006: I was watching the Cincinnati Reds play the San Francisco Giants when Ken Griffey, Jr. stepped to the plate with two outs in the first to face Matt Cain. Strike three got away from Giant catcher Eliezer Alfonzo, went all the way to the backstop, but Griffey didn’t even try to make it to first base. With that type of leadership, it’s no surprise the Reds lost this one 8-0.
