I get a lot out of having kids. Unfortunately, one thing my daughter gave me over the weekend I didn’t need. An ear infection.

So now I have a greater appreciation for what those with hearing loss go through every day. This ain’t fun.

Anyway, that and general sickness explains my absence from writing here the last few days. Thanks to Teddy B for filling in admirably. Also thanks for calling and checking in. It’s nice to know I’m missed.

According to National Public Radio, it seems an adult-proof ringtone has been developed that only teenagers can hear. There’s a link to download the audio file to see whether you can hear it.

It’s not foolproof. You could scream in my right ear and I wouldn’t hear you but as for my wife, she heard the tone just fine. I know better than to give her age but I can say she’s no teenager.

As far as I’m concerned, I can do these teenagers one better. I have a “ringtone” that only *I* can hear. It’s called “vibrate”.

Maybe they could start using that.
